Generations of mountaineers have passed quietly along the wind-sculpted ridges of these magnificent peaks. They climbed delicately along waving snow mushrooms and drooping cornices to the lofty perches reserved for only the proudest of efforts. They wrote many books- great books. Which I read over and over from my family home as a child.
Finding my own moment, I set off for the great ranges. Time clicks forward. There are new stories being written. I wondered: Who will represent the next generation of high altitude mountaineers?

The New Benchmark for American Mountain Guides.
On a mission to become the first American to guide clients to the summits of all fourteen eight-thousand meter peaks. This has not been attempted before. At age 30, Benny is the foremost High Altitude Mountain Guide of his generation. During this journey, Benny plans to attempt solo climbs on forgotten faces of 8000m peaks in the best style: No oxygen and no rope. The combination of goals as a guide and personally as a climber align with that of great figures from previous generations and will set the next benchmark for future generations in the mountains.
Equipment is everything. Climbing mountains is a delicate balancing act between ambition, time, and the mountain itself. After a long cold night bundled up in my downsuit & big boots, the sun rises and reality sets in on just how well you’ve strategized your summit attack. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time and with the right kit.
